I didn’t really believe in fate until I met Jeff. By all accounts there is no reason we should’ve met. We happened to be at the same college. But the University of Arizona has about 50,000 people enrolled and teaching. We weren’t in the same classes. We didn’t go to the same clubs or attend the same church. There were times when we were in the same place at the same time, but we weren’t available and thankfully didn’t meet then. All in all we absolutely did not meet in any normal place, and our friends didn’t intentionally hook us up. But it must’ve been destined that we meet.
I was at his roommates house, quite literally talking about God’s plans for our lives, when Jeff walked in the front door. It was past midnight and I was wearing pajamas. Not cute ones either. I’m not even sure they matched. Jeff looked significantly better than I did at that moment and I definitely noticed. Regardless of all that what I really noticed is that he was immediately kind to me, a perfect stranger sitting on his couch. He asked how my day was, and he offered to make me tea or hot chocolate. Which side note if you know me you know those are staples in my house as I do NOT drink coffee.
That night we talked for hours, and the next day I had a new friend request on Facebook. It took three weeks to officially have a date. He won my heart by taking me to see Disney’s Moana (even though it was my third or fourth time seeing it in theaters). So it seems fitting that we would have our engagement pictures taken in Disneyland. It was perfect timing – we were taking a Southern California road trip to visit family, and Katie of Kathrine Rose Photography was available to capture our adventure. Katie did an amazing job capturing these images and I’m so grateful for her friendship! (P.s. If you want to see her mommy and me Disney session click here.)
I hope you enjoy our engagement pictures as much as I do. But that would be really really hard!
