Last Saturday was a perfect day for a wedding. It was sunny and 72 degrees because in the desert we barely get winter. And it was filled with love – You know my favorite thing in the whole wide world! And for Val and Alan the Stillwell House in downtown Tucson was the perfect location for their wedding. These two put so much effort into each and every detail, and you can really tell. Alan made every single candle holder that was on all the tables during the cocktail hour and reception. Val designed and created all the floral arrangements herself!
When Val stepped into her wedding gown she was truly glowing, but she was just a little bit nervous. Thankfully they had decided they were going to share time together before the ceremony with a first look. The second Val saw Alan you could just feel all her nerves melt away. They just laughed, and hugged, and took in the moment together. These two really embodied everything I love about the first look, and spent time in the moment with each other. I couldn’t stop smiling watching them! After portraits Val tucked away again with her closest girlfriends at her side to fix her makeup and prepare for the walk the aisle. Alan could not stop smiling waiting for his bride, and as soon as he saw her again his jaw actually dropped. It was like a real life fairytale!
Val and Alan, thank you so much for trusting me to document your love story and your wedding at Stillwell House! From our very first meeting when I heard your proposal story I knew I was going to love working with y’all! You proved that to be true during your Mt. Lemmon engagement session. And then again on Saturday. I love you guys and can’t wait to see where the future takes you. P.S. the candle holder you so generously gave to me looks amazing on my bedside table!
Huge shout out to the creative team who made this wedding day possible!
