As it turns out the Attack of the Zombie Horde date was in fact preparing us for the Five Days and Five Nights Game. The creators of Crated with Love April Date box now expected us to be marshmallow launching experts! But I was still solidly a beginner, which made for hilarious outcomes! Honestly, I don’t think I’d become an expert even if I practiced for an hour! Balloon launchers aren’t the most accurate!
Anyway, this game is essentially a board game that is played with your partner in order to get the antidote we created in the first challenge to the safe zone (somewhere there are no zombies). But of course there’s a twist! In this case watching out for Zombie hordes!
This game really helped strengthen our teamwork! Some of the cards required us to answer together and we had to agree on the final answer! For example “it’s getting a little cold. Better find a blanket! Who do you think hogs the covers the most between you both?” or “You come across a fresh spring in the woods. If you had to visit one river in the world, where would you go?” It was fun to have an instant answer (it’s my husband who’s the blanket hog) and to learn more about where we want to travel! We decided on the Nile river because Egypt is definitely up there on our places to travel to list!
This board game reminded me of something I’d heard a long time ago and mostly forgotten. It isn’t me against my husband when there’s a problem. It’s my husband and I together against the problem when there is a problem! I think if I could give two pieces of relationship advice it would be that one and remembering to set realistic expectations for your partner and then COMMUNICATE them to one another!
You can get your own Crated with Love date box here!
Please note/disclaimer: Crated With Love provided me with this date box at no charge in exchange for photos, but all opinions are fully mine. And my husband and I enjoy them so much that I purchased and gave one as a gift to all of my 2018 wedding couples for Christmas!
