Monica and Jordan are the kind of couple that makes other people happy just to be around them. That was one of the most obvious things during their wedding at the South Coast Botanical Gardens. As Jordan greeted guests they instantly started to smile, and as Monica walked down the aisle it was not only her groom who geared up.
Actually, the tears started early at this wedding when Monica’s mom was helping her with the finishing touches of her gown. One of my favorite questions to ask as that happens is if the bride’s mom has any advice for her daughter. I didn’t hear Laura’s advice, but the tears of joy were a moment I was glad to capture. Actually, every moment of Monica and Jordan’s wedding day felt like a moment they’d want to be able to look back on. And I was reminded how lucky I am that photography is my job.
Monica and I met ten years ago. Literally before I’d ever even picked up a DSLR camera. If I hadn’t started a career in wedding photography I don’t know that Monica and I would have rekindled our friendship from summer camp, and I am so glad that we did! It started with a bachelorette party for another friend from summer camp. Then we all met again for Jenni’s wedding! Our friendship grew from there and Monica, Jordan, my husband and myself all spent the weekend in Northern Arizona. At first the plan was just for engagement pictures in Sedona, but these two lovebirds are always up for an adventure and we ended up spontaneously driving to the Grand Canyon!
That quality about them is the one I heard most throughout the wedding day! Monica and Jordan are always up for an adventure, or to take a trip on the motorcycle together. I am so glad I was able to witness them starting this next great adventure together!
Monica and Jordan, thank you for trusting me to be your wedding photographer, and for your friendship. I am so happy to know you and I can not wait to see where life takes the two of you! I hope you love these sneak peeks as much as I do… it’s a lot!
Huge shoutout to the Creative Team without whom this beautiful wedding wouldn’t have been possible!
