One of my favorite things about the holidays is the decorating! This year is extra fun because my husband and I are decorating together! I’m grateful because JT mostly just entertains whatever it is that I have envisioned. Like the blush pink pumpkins and the unique pink and orange tablescape that I just fell in love with. Of course he gives his opinions, but I love that he trusts my creativity! Even though sometimes things don’t always go as planned. This year I decided to challenge myself to decorate the spaces with intention. So we’re decorating unexpected spaces for the fall! We’re starting with how to decorate the bathroom for the fall!
First things first – JT and I are newlyweds. Yes I know it’s been almost a year, but I still think that’s pretty new! And what it means is that we are trying to save for our future! So as much as I want to go all out with decor I had to have a budget! The budget for the bathroom was only $15 because it’s a small space!
To start with I knew I wanted to stick with traditional fall colors to accent the room! That meant oranges and yellows. I kept the solid white bath towels, and used orange hand towels as an accent piece! White towels are the best because you can bleach them so they stay looking fresh all year round, and you can pair them with any other color hand towel for festive fun!
Then I set my bath caddy! I used products I already had and loved that I thought really tied into the fall color theme! These oils by whispering willow are some of my favorites because they leave my skin feeling SO soft!
Next I focused on candles. Obviously candles and bathrooms are a great combination, but I wanted mine to be cute! So I set out to Joann’s armed with coupons and determined to get a great deal! But ultimately I repurposed a candle I bought on sale from Anthropologie! But I did find a perfect fall candle, and I bought another “fall” candle that I think will be perfect for Christmas!
Finally, I think every room should have plants, but I couldn’t think of any living plants that really felt like fall! So I found these cute ones from the clearance section that continued my color scheme!
I know I could’ve done even more, but I’m trying to embrace a more minimal decorating philosophy, which will be continued into my Christmas decor!
